Many days followed, within this time Llywelyn was feeling the pain of hunger. Thirst was even more evident in her. The way she was slowing down, the dizzy spells, somehow she must find water to drink soon or she will die of dehydration. Such a frivolous way to go and surely not befitting a queen let alone a goddess. Deciding to take a chance with the muck in the wet ground. Llywelyn scooped up some of the more liquefied mud into her hands. Using the scull of one of the dead she placed the muck inside it. Building a fire she begin to heat the muck hoping for separation. Yet no separation came. The muck only intensified to a thicker form of mud. Not wanting to sink into the unthinkable yet not wishing to die in this distant land Llywelyn put the mud to her lips to suck at any moisture that she could. The cool feel to her dry lips made her stomach groan with need. Lying back against what was left of a tree she closed her eyes in agony. Her clothing was dirty and frail. The morn brought new light and hope. Llywelyn lifted herself up and slowly moved onward toward the north. Opening came in the form of sand, as far as the eye could see. Llywelyn thought of turning around but feared without food and water she would not make it back. There had to be something ahead. After all the land of the dead disappeared to bring on the desert sands. It seemed endless time passed letting nothing but the sand form around the feet of Llywelyn. Exhausted finally she collapsed into the ground. Watching as the sun closed in her eyes and darkness ceased her up, unconsciousness engulfed her. A brief memory of a fulmar swooping down upon her then nothing. Llywelyn woke at the base of the sea with water flowing upon her body. Slowly her lips touched and drank the sweet water as her eyes took in the sight before her. The water could not have come from the sea for there was no salt in it. Yet the body of water was vas. Ahead of her was a bridge leading to an island. At the base of the bridge and reaching beyond sat the stone sentries. Upright as guards to a kingdom. But what kingdom had she found and what brought her to this place. The last she could remember she was dying in the sand with nothing in site. Then remembering the fulmar (great eagle), it must have brought her here and deposited her upon the water, but why would the bird do that. They were known for killing. Llywelyn sat up now evaluating the situation before her.
There was no turning back perhaps that was the road to knowledge or perhaps it was the road to the end either way she was about to venture upon it. Something was wanting her here and she knew enough if she tried to leave now there would be no way out. Scanning the area she felt nothing. Rising from the sand without sword now Llywelyn moved slowly toward the steps across the waters. Looking up at the stone creature she could see it was not all human. perhaps that was the type of living creature that occupied this domain. Perhaps they were put there to steer humans from entering upon the steps. Taking a deep breath Llywelyn took her first step into a fate worst than death.
