Forbidding Hates to stay at her side, Llywelyn set out on foot into this land like her own was dead. The stench and decay was beyond reconignition. What was left of human form lied in the skeleton remains at her feet. Climbing over bones and maggots of the underworld Llywelyn thought more than once to turn back. There is no male worth this. Still she dreaded onward into the darkness. No signs of vegetation was left on the trees that stood tall as sentries forewarning all to not enter. For just the look of what lied ahead told all there was no return. Llywelyn scanned the area for life of any form. Either her powers didn't work here or there just wasn't anything to find.
Hours had passed and still no sign of life and perhaps something evil was amidst for each time she took a turn Llywelyn felt eyes at her back. Scanning brought no sign of life human or otherwise still the feeling persisted. Using her blade she marked the dried wood of the tree trunks so as not to totally get lost. Her strong legs never tiring continued to trek into the dark. After what seemed to be forever ahead a bit of light beamed into the tunnel of trees. A miracle she thought to herself. Not expecting to see any type of brightness
The grounds were marshy and wet now opening to what was once perhaps a lake or river bed. Looking down the water was to muddy for human consumption. Not like her own Domain where there was vas water from the seas. All she had to do was boil the salt out of it and it was drinkable and bathable. A tinge of happiness touched her for she knew at this time she would be going home to a better place and again she had to thank the gods. If she had not ordered her lands to be cleared of the dead and burned perhaps this was her own destiny she was staring at. As the opening expanded into a broader area Llywelyn could see that to cross any further would take skill. For the ground that was dry was dense and the land was lost into the much of the earth. Now would be the ideal time to mount Hates but as ordered he had returned home. The sun was going down which meant that total darkness would be upon Llywelyn very soon. Would it be any difference than in the tunnel of timbers that we had emerged from she thought. Perhaps for here she needed the light to continue to cross the swamps. If this did not give way she would have to halt and stay idle until the morrows light. Speeding up her journey to make haste Llywelyn vaulted herself over the mounds of clustered land. Using her sword to propel her through the air. One after the other. Endless mounts, perhaps never ending she thought. As the darkness overtook the light and no evidence of a moon in sight Llywelyn gave up the hurtles and gathered her cape around her to settle to the ground to rest. With the morning light again Llywelyn took to her feet with anticipation. With great skill she propelled herself from pillar to pillar. As she got closer to the sun the land dried and became more vas. Again bodies of skeletons lied beneath her as in doom. They looked as if they were herded into the edge of the land and left for dead. Some of the bodies still had stinking flesh clinging to them. Maggots crawled up and through the remains as if thriving on the feast of flesh. The over all visual effect was grotesque and forbearing. This land reminded her of the stories of VALKYRIE the bird goddess. Valkyrie is one of the most ancient goddesses, both a live-giving creature and a goddess of death and regeneration. It is said that Valkyrie ventured off to the north to find a land where she and only she would rule and anyone that did not obey her she would pluck to death slowly and fiercely. Valkyrie was legended to be the goddess that could change to a Raven with magical powers. The word Valkyrie meant (chooser of the slain). The actual face and form is the last thing a human sees before death. Ancient people thought death was a part of a cyclical process leading again to rebirth, black was a positive color, a symbol of fertility and abundance. The Valkyrie represented that part of us that is unafraid of the dark places, she can lead us into and through them. It is fabled that she is sister to Sedna and both rule the underworld together one above land and one below the seas. How much of the story is true Llywelyn did not really know. She grew up with the myths or stories handed down. Buy as her mother told her a bit of all the stories are true. You being the strong of mind have to figure out what to do with the rest. Well if Valkyrie existed Llywelyn would seek her out and request her help. For they came from the same blood did they not. Llywelyn was not a mere mortal to be shuttled off and left for dead. Nor plucked to death by a raven. No Llywelyn would capture Valkyrie if she could and if not she would slay her. In that case it will be Llywelyns face that will be the last thing Valkyrie sees before death. Time was on her side Llywelyn being a God could go for days with little sleep or food. She could shut her system down to require little human consumptions at all. The second day now almost to an end she thought of the feast she would have upon returning to her own domain. That is if she came back victorious. If she found a male or even male species. She would mesmerize them into following her to the ends of the earth and there she would skillfully guide them over the waters of the sea to her kingdom, her home, her domain. This would be within her right for she was a living God was she not.
